  Giuseppe Abbrancati was born in the southern part of Italy in the region of Calabria. He worked in his family owned Home Improvement Business since the age of 8 years old. At the age of 16 Giuseppe left his hometown to immigrate to the northern more industrialized part of Italy in the city of Milano. That is where Giuseppe worked for a company that specialized in paving blocks and wall system installations. Giuseppe was mesmerized for the flexibility that pavingstones had to offer to design and create functional and appealing layouts. It was then that Giuseppe's inspiration began making pavingstone installations his career.
Giuseppe continued to work installing pavingstones in Milano building court yards, pedestrian and vehicular trafficked pavements until the age of 20. In 1987 Giuseppe immigrated to the United States and found that pavingstones were just beginning to get popular in this country.
Giuseppe's career went on to be a very successful journey as a pioneer in the pavingstones design and installation industry in the US. Giuseppe's career has been very fulfilled and satisfied for being recognized and awarded 11 National Titles for design and installing the most unique and original pavingstone creations by ICPI Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute and Concrete Products Magazine as winner of their Annual Design/Install contest. Giuseppe holds the record for winning 1st Place in all three categories - residential, commercial and specialties and for winning the most awards since the life of that contest from 1993.
In 1994 he incorporated and started GAPPSI, Giuseppe Abbrancati Professional Paving Stone Installers. Trained many employees and made many associates. Giuseppe's vast knowledge in the united paving industry is far more than installing pavingstones through years of experience and love for the trade. Giuseppe has developed new installation techniques and worked with manufacturers as adviser to develop new tools and products which he has adopted and introduced to the market.
In 1999 Giuseppe designed, patented and developed the GAPPSI Edge Restraint System which has been successfully installed on every GAPPSI pavingstone installation. GAPPSI's success is even more glorious today after servicing thousands of satisfied customers. GAPPSI records with Consumer Affair and with BBB is the best you can get.
In 2005 we announced the Grand Opening of our first showroom, located at 1015 W. Jericho Tpke., Smithtown, NY. With thousands of Sq. Ft. of the finest pavingstones, tumbled, travertine, marble, natural stone veneer, cultured stones and retaining wall systems where our customers can select first hand their paving materials.
GAPPSI services has expanded through our contractors certification program to provide consumers with reliable and fine installations. Through our associates we have extended our services from pavingstones installation to landscape/aquascape, our tools, mason and materials supply division, our full line of fence installation from bamboo, pvc, aluminum and wood. Outdoor lighting, full line of self contained pool and wall fountain and home remodeling services.
